It was too quiet . . .again . . .

Well, it's happened again. This evening the girls and I were on the patio with Dylan. He loves to lay outside and just hates it when he has to come in to the crate. The girls were ready for their bath and bedtime routine, so I asked Mary Clare to run into the basement to get me a dog biscuit to try to "motivate" Dylan to stand up so I could get the sling on him and - basically - drag him into the basement. Well, the girls happily ran inside . . and I waited for one minute . . . three minutes . . . five minutes. I went to investigate. I found Erin standing on a chair washing her hands in the sink, and Mary Clare covered in paint(!). She looked up so sweetly and said, "Oh hi Mommy -- we're making a treat for Dylan!" She had painted him a card and was trying to glue a dog biscuit onto the cover as a "decoration." I couldn't be mad -- they were so excited. But this is what the basement looked (and still looks) like!

I had to remind them to use *paper* on the easel next time . . .

You can see the biscuit on the gray card on the table in front of Mary Clare.
Of course, I was a little less good humored about all this when I put them in the bathub and realized that they had pain all over the bottoms of their feet -- the same feet that they had walked all through the house with! ahhhhh!
