Happy Birthday Dee Da!

Yesterday was Roger's Birthday and we had a really fun day. Mary Clare has adopted an adorable habit of calling him "Dee Da" - she gets the sounds for Daddy inverted. She made him a big card with finger paints earlier in the week and was really excited to give it to him first thing in the morning -- she ran up and down our main hallway screaming "Dee Da!" until he got up! It was a perfect spring day in Franklin and we joined some friends at their country club for an Easter Egg Hunt. Mary Clare really had alot of fun collecting eggs with Dee Da, but wasn't as sure about meeting the Easter Bunny -- this was as close as she got!

That afternoon we walked into downtown Franklin had had a snack at an Irish pub -- it was a beautiful day and we were able to sit outside which was fun. Coincidentally (?) the pub is right nextdoor to the toy store so Mary Clare also picked up a 2 1/2 foot tall Elmo to add to her collection. Later Roger and I went out to dinner, but Roger and Mary Clare had some nice quiet time together before Oksana the babysitter came to stay. All in all it was a really nice day.
