Four months and growing!

Erin turned 4 months old on Wednesday and had her doctor's appt yesterday. She is growing great - as we knew. She is 25 inches long (75th percentile) and 17 lbs, 7 oz (off the charts). Her reflux is still bothering her and effecting her sleep, but she is happy and smiles all the time. She is really chewing on her hands, reaching for her toys, and almost rolling over. We were given the green light to start her on solid foods - beginning with rice cereal. Here's a photo of her first taste -- she seemed to like it, but couldn't over-ride her instinct to spit it out. You can see she gave herself a bad scratch on her cheek. She did that today while we were out for a walk -- it was a gorgeous day.

In fact, we took a stroll today at a new Franklin park - for those who came to our wedding it is next to the historic home where we had our reception. You can see some photos here -- http://carnton.org/photo%20gallery.htm The two adorable girls at the end are my neices who are in elementary school now!

We've had a busy several days -- Roger has been in Tampa trying a case all week. It's the longest that he's been away from Mary Clare (and me and Erin for that matter). We all missed him alot. I missed the adult company and the help. I've been firing up the double stroller twice a day to walk Dylan - which he usually does. Luckily, the weather has been pretty nice -- only one rainy day. One evening we were walking around the neighborhood and I happened to look up and a hot air balloon was gliding silently overhead. It couldn't have been more than 80 feet above us and looked enormous. Mary Clare couldn't believe what she was seeing -- she kept saying, "BIIIIIGG Balloon!!!"

Mary Clare has picked up the habit lately of explaining to anyone who will listen that, "MommyDeeDaBabyErinDeeLou . . . . " [Mommy, Daddy, Erin, Dylan (our dog), and Lou (our cat)] did whatever]. This week she's been changing it to "MommyDeeDaByeByeBabyErinDeeLou". She keeps telling me that DeeDa is "Up, Up on Plane" That has definitely made in impression on her.

Next weekend is our 2nd annual Halloween party -- the forecast right now is for rain (which frankly would be a disaster). We finished most of our decorations today and I'll try to post the last of the photos tomorrow. We need to go shopping for our candy (about 80 lbs) and I'm just hoping for nice weather. That's alot of candy to be left with!!
