Random pictures

This past week, two of the large maples along 10th Avenue had to be taken down because they were dying. It was sad -- they were about 150 years old - but necessary. Erin woke up on Thursday morning and I could hear her on the monitor in the kitchen. She often wake up and opens her shutters to see what is going on. This day she opened them and then said . . . "Wow, there is a man WAY WAY WAY up in that tree! MOMMY!!!!" She sat there until it was time to go to school - I even brought her breakfast in her bed so she didn't have to stop watching. If you look carefully in the picture you can see the bucket truck in the distance.

A few weeks ago we took the girls to the Mall and they discovered the magic of the carousel. My local friends will be shocked that we've never done that before - but we just got around to it -- and it was worth it - they LOVED it! So cute.
