Franklin Theatre

We had a fun and busy weekend! The weather was unseasonably mild - in the 60s! - which was a welcome change after our unseasonably cold and snowy winter. We have had so much snow and ice this winter that the girls have not had a full week of school since before Christmas! So we took full of advantage of it and the girls played outside, even having a snack up in their playset. On Saturday we also took the girls to see a dog obedience and agility competition -- it was amazing to watch those dogs, and I fear for what they may try to get Bo to do now! We had so much fun that they were conked out on the couch by Saturday afternoon - so we missed a big event in downtown Franklin - the lighting of the new marquis on the historic Theatre. The Heritage Foundation has been working hard to restore the theatre - including replacing the marquis which was removed in the 1970s - and Saturday marked an important milestone. Here is a picture of the theatre in its heyday . . .

and this is how it looks today! Sooo exciting! All the work should be done by late spring!

And, my blog posts would not be complete without one picture of Bo. Here is Mary Clare with her main man enjoying the nice weather on Saturday!
