No more pencils, no more books!

Erin's School Picture - Kindergarten

Mary Clare's School Picture - Second Grade
I can't believe the school year has come to a close.  Look at how much they both grew up this year - and how much more relaxed they look on the last day!  (Well, Erin is mostly annoyed that I made her take the picture.

First day of School - August 11, 2011
Last Day of School - May 24, 2012

Its a tradition at BGA for the parents to decorate their cars on the last day of school.  We drop the kids off at 8 am and then go home to get all ready!  When we return for the kids its a big surprise to see what we have done.  This year I put a plastic surf board on the back, a pink dolphin on the side, and plastic leis all wrapped on the bike rack and in the windows.  I love the Spirit Parade!

Once I picked up the girls - complete with a Silly String ambush - we pulled out of the parking lot - along with all the other cars, honking our horn and blaring the Beach Boys.  We led a caravan of other Kindergarteners back to our house for an end of the year party.
Mary Clare took some pictures of the decorations for me --
Here are most of the kids on our porch steps.  One of the teachers - Kay Woodall - is near the top.  She was so nice to stop in.  When the kids saw her, they swarmed her - she was a rock star!
