Beautiful Fall Day

Let's see, it's been busy (as usual) around here. This morning Mary Clare had picture day at school. I can't wait to see how they turn out -- I took her early hoping to get some good shots, but it all completely backfired on me. As soon as Mary Clare realized we were going to School she started crying and saying, "No Mommy Bye-Bye" over and over and over again. I think her photo will be of a crying little girl hugging her yellow blanket. Adorable to us, but probably not likely to win any prizes. Since I was so early getting to the picture-taking, we had to wait for a long time before her classroom opened -- this just left more time for her to cry. She was such a mess that a 4 year-old came over and said to me, "Why is she crying so much?" Sigh. Thankfully, as soon as she got to class she settled down and the teachers said she did well. In fact, they said she even left Yellow a few times! Here's a photo of her teachers (you can see Yellow prominently in the middle) --

and here's a picture of Grandma, Mommy and Mary Clare.

After we picked up Mary Clare I took my mom to the airport and Mary Clare home for what turned out to be a very short nap. It was a gorgeous fall day so I didn't mind. I bundled the girls into the double stroller and we went for a jaunt around Franklin. Here's Mary Clare leading the charge.

When we got back I broke out the paper and markers -- this is Mary Clare's rendition of "Mommy Car and DeeDa Car."
Erin is doing great -- she is sitting up well enough to use the highchair. Here she is giving us one of her characteristic grins.
