One year and counting . . .

I just noticed that I've hit the one-year anniversary of this blog - I can't believe it! A lot has happened since I wrote that first post, but the most important news for today is that Erin FINALLY slept through the night!!! Yahoo!! She slept for 8 hours (8 pm til 4 am) -- and then went back to sleep until 8 am again. I feel like a new woman! It was a gorgeous fall day here and I felt so good that I got an immense amount of weeding done in the garden today. It was embarassing how overgrown it had become so I was really glad to see the pile growing at the curb. Here is our sweetie in the playroom -- she loves to bounce her legs and Mary Clare seems to think she is dancing when she does that. Yesterday we took them to the Farmer's Market and Mary Clare was really having fun dancing to the bluegrass music. We had a heartmeltingly sweet moment when Mary Clare took Erin's feet and danced with her -- "Haaaappppyyyy Baaaaaaabbbbyyy" she kept singing. It surprises and delights us to see how much they love eachother already.

We've also begun home renovation project #2,641 (or at least it feels that way). On Thursday our latest group of workers arrived to begin building a picket fence around our yard. They got the post holes dug and the posts arranged so we could see their placement. I am really looking forward to being able to play and work in the yard without feeling like I need to be in a sprinter's crouch ready to run after Mary Clare.

Mary Clare goes back to school tomorrow and I'm a little anxious about it. She seems to love it when she is there, but tonight when I put her to bed she started sobbing and saying, "No Mommy Bye-Bye" -- it surprised me because we hadn't talked about school at all this evening. Ugh! I just have to remember how much fun she has once she is there.
