"Hmm. . . . Where is Me? 1 , 2, 3. . . "

It was rainy yesterday and freezing cold today so we haven't left the house since Sunday (well, Roger has, but the rest of the family has stayed close to home). Mary Clare's imagination has been running wild -- she has suddenly become very maternal and has really taken to playing with her doll. Here she is giving her doll (named "Dolly") some juice. She loves to pretend her doll is crying and then she nurses it (with "tummy milk"), burps it, and rocks it to sleep. She also loves to push Dolly in Erin's outgrown baby swing. And at dinner tonight she tried to convince me to kick Erin out of her highchair and let Dolly eat in it. She also loves to play hide and seek -- she prompts me to play by saying, "Hmmm . . . Where is Me?" -- because usually what I do is say, Hmmmm . . . " and then count to 10. Then I say, "Where is Mary Clare?" She is getting frighteningly good at hiding and a few times I've actually had a hard time finding her -- so I'm being more careful about closing certain doors and child-proofing.

It has been an arts & crafts blitz around here. Yesterday, Angie (our teenage babysitter) and Chloe (Mary Clare's friend) came over to play since it was a holiday and there was no school.
They had fun turning an old box into a car and taking turns driving it.

The two girls also had fun whipping up some snacks in the kitchen.

Erin was there cheering everyone on as usual.
