Getting caught up . . .

The website that hosts my blog hasn't been working correctly for the last 2 weeks so I have alot to get caught up on . . after our strawberry picking on Tuesday, on Wednesday I took the girls to the zoo. We met up with some friends and had a picnic. I got a great picture of a giraffe. This young animal was very curious about the kids and they were fascinated, too.
On Thursday night we went to the library for "Pajama time" -- Mary Clare wore her Cinderella dress-style pajamas, high heels and pink tights. She clickety-clacked her way across the library lobby's hardwood floors and thought it was so great. She received a prize for reading (well, having us read to her) 10 new books and had fun standing up for her applause from the crowd.

Over the weekend, we spent our time on two major accomplishments -- we entered Phase II of potty training -- and this time it seems to have stuck! Mary Clare is out of diapers full time now (except for when she sleeps). She still resists a bit but is pretty much accident free -- yay, Mary Clare!!

On Sunday night we planned some special time with her as a treat. We put Erin to bed and then let Mary Clare come downstairs in her PJs. She had never seen (or didn't remember) fireflies. Roger caught some in a pickle jar for her and they had a great time on the porch. She really enjoyed running around on the grass looking for the blinking lights.

The other big news -- Erin is standing! Well, pulling up to standing, and crawling up everything -- stairs, into chairs, etc. I can hardly keep up with her. She has bruises and bumps everywhere, but she is so very proud of herself - as are we!
Tomorrow, Mary Clare starts her "camp" -- really similar to her school program but more fun (if that's possible). She is looking forward to it. Angie (our babysitter) will be coming on some of those days to give me some free time and give Erin the extra attention. I have big plans for my free time -- getting caught up on dentist appointments, my annual physical (6 months late), the emissions testing on the car -- you know, fun stuff like that!
Here is Mary Clare playing "baseball" -- she amazed me today -- she is able to hold a ball in one hand and hit it with a bat in the other. I couldn't believe she could do it!

Our garden is recovering from a very bad and late freeze over Easter weekend. We lost alot of buds and it set everything back. The tiger lillies are doing great, though.
