Halloween this year fell on a Saturday -with a full moon, gorgeous weather, the same day as Pumpkin Fest downtown, and the end of Day Light Saving time -- essentially the perfect combination of events for an unusally large (even for us) turnout on Halloween night. We had lots and lots of kids - probably around 3,000. Enough candy to fill a Costco cart -- plus Roger had to run out for more around 8:30. Here are some of the highlights -- these brothers are dressed as The Wild Thing and Max from Where the Wild Things Are.

A group of adults came house-to-house singing Christmas carols - complete with candles!

A boy with a BIG crown (he called himself "King Fathead"!)

Here's a picture that gives an idea of the size of the crowds -- Roger finally got tired and just sat on the steps to hand out candy.

I thought this juice box was great.

But this was my favorite - a Facebook page!

Before it got dark we had an open house for the kids from the girls' classes at school. Erin and Mary Clare were playing in the garden wearing witches hats before they arrived. so cute!
