"I ate dirt, Mommy"

Well, Mary Clare is sick! I'm not too surprised -- this time of year, the germs just seem to fly around. Thankfully she doesn't seem too bothered by it. Yesterday after I realized that she was getting sick, I tried to explain to Mary Clare that she needed to be careful to not touch Erin. I explained about germs and told her that her hands were dirty and she needed to keep them away from Erin - especially her mouth. Well, she thought about it and then didn't ask me anything more about it. She woke up early from her nap, and I could hear from the coughing sounds on the monitor that she was definitely getting a bad cold. When I walked into her room, the first thing she said to me was, "I ate dirt, Mommy." It's so funny how their little minds work!

Erin, thankfully, is not sick and continues to sleep well! Yipee! Roger should be home early today and then we can begin our Christmas holiday in earnest. The presents are beginning to pile up under the tree, but there is plenty of room for those from Santa. Speaking of Santa, he had one of his elves deliver an ourdoor play house for Mary Clare. It's currently stored in our garage (out of sight). I can't wait for her to see it!
