Potty Training begins in earnest

Well, we had a great weekend. On Saturday morning Roger took Mary Clare to My Gym for some fun and exercise. It has been so cold (in the 20s and low 30s during the day) that she hasn't played outside very much. I stayed home with Erin and baked (!). It was so relaxing! That afternoon I met up with a friend for a manicure and pedicure (another "!"). And then, after Mary Clare's nap she suddenly decided that it was "Potty Time". She keeps telling me she's trying to "tickle". We probably spent 4 hours sitting with her while she sat on her little potty reading her stories and pretending to talk on her Winnie the Pooh phone. She had a little red donut impression on her tiny bum. But she's so adorable about the whole thing it's hard to mind.

She's been having fun "helping" Mommy -- yesterday morning she tried to feed Erin as you can see in this photo -- and actually got some food in her mouth. Yesterday morning, Mary Clare slept until 9:15 (heaven!) and then she talked to my Dad and Carolyn on the Ojo Phone -- it's a video phone and she just loves it. Later, she and DeeDa had a picnic/tea party on the living room floor.
