"Surprise, Surprise"

Well, Suprise, Surprise, as Gomer (from the Andy Griffith show) would say - no snow! Well, barely any snow. So, instead of enjoying a snowy morning at home, I bundled the girls up and took Erin to the doctor this morning. Our pediatrician isn't convinced that Erin has food allergies (thankfully), but isn't sure what the problem is -- so we'll wait until we see the specialist at Vandy in a few weeks. Luckily, I seem to have stumbled on one of the problems -- we ran out of the mixed grain cereal last week and only had oatmeal. Erin is doing much better without the grains, so we'll keep that up.
On the way to the doctor's office this morning we passed a construction site and Mary Clare piped up from the back seat: "Mommy, when me big girl me like to drive big dozer." Where does she come up with this stuff? I didn't think she understood the concept of "when I grow up", much less "big dozer"! She's learning things so quickly I can't keep up sometimes -- this morning I was putting Erin down for her morning nap and left Mary Clare in the playroom. I had laid our her clothes for the day, and when I came out of Erin's room Mary Clare was standing on our landing with her pants on! She's tried to get dressed before, but this time, she had the legs in the right holes and the pants facing forward -- all by herself!
Tonight, after dinner, I was taking the dishes to the kitchen and I heard Erin and Mary Clare laughing in the dining room -- I came back in and Mary Clare was playing "peek-a-boo" with Erin -- she would hide under the tray of her highchair, and then pop up. Too cute!
They're calling for more snow tonight . . . we'll see. . . . .
